I've been looking at this again Fran and I think if it were mine I might even try an extra copy cropped in a fairly tight vertical format. It wouldn't have any 'spare' space and it may not work but I'd be sorely tempted to give it a bash. Just a thought.

Thanks Robert, I was deliberating over a square crop too, but felt the BIF needed space to fly into. I am no expert, but feel, after playing that the above was better compositionally. Will see what others think too. Appreciate your input and may do a repost as soon as I am able.

I think I prefer this one to the last one, Fran. The vertical format idea seems wirth a go to me.

I have tried the vertical format as kindly suggested by Robert, but still felt uncomfortable about the lack of space in front of the bird. So I have cropped it heavier into a square format (sorry Robert) and hopefully not overdone it and lost too much detail. It does look a lot more dramatic methinks
As always your views and advice are always welcome.

I like them both very much but do prefer the first one as a composition, although I agree the second is more dramatic.

I like them both Fran. The squarer format does work better than a narrower crop (it pays to experiment). So now you have two good and yet different images from the one frame. Job done !

I like the second one but agree with the comments about space.
