James River near Glasgow, Virginia
In October I returned to Virginia to visit my aging parents. They don't get out of the house much anymore so one day I took them for a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway to see how the Autumn colors were coming along. The Appalachian Trail follows the BRP pretty closely through this part of Virginia. We found where the local AT Club had a nice footbridge built over the James River to avoid the vehicular traffic where the AT originally crossed the James River using US Hwy 501 a mile or so downstream. Pretty much a mid-day shot with some harsh light, but the polarizer did a nice job bringing out the colors and the reflections. Would have been nice touch if a train had been coming along about that time. Thanks for looking.
