I never tire of visiting Pewits Nest. I think that it has been a couple of years since I've been there, though, so it was nice to get back there. [And, sorry that I missed the MWNP "meeting" there a couple of weeks ago! ;) ] The leaves are well past peak, but it was overcast and I had the place all to myself this morning.
This first photo is a tight one of the most easily viewable waterfall...
Pentax K20D, 200mm, f/22, 2", polarizer
And, this final one is with a shallow DOF, which I've been doing more and more with my wedding and portrait work...
80mm, f/4.5, 1/30", polarizer...
Enjoy,
Tim!

Sorry you missed the meeting. Granted it wasn’t very well planned. My wife is still talking about the odds of three MWNP photographers showing up at the same location at the same time.
I like the third shot. I’m finding that it is difficult to find something a little different when shooting at the same place multiple times. I’ll have to give something like this a try.

Tim, I looked at the first capture and thought - "Interesting, a slight tilt to the capture, not the usual for landscape work." Tilting the camera is something that is (no pun intended) second nature for me for capturing a more dynamic composition. Then I read the additional posts, and realized the possible answer - you are a portrait photographer in addition to being a nature photographer. Sweet captures Tim. The last capture gives a clue to the first capture in terms of scale.
I take it that another benefit to being a NPN member is the possibility of regional get togethers or photo-sojourns? I'd be interested in this to see what synergy flows from a gathering of people with a like minded passion.

Nice shots, Tim...good exposure on the falls.
As an aside....you are allowed to post only 2 images per topic, but because the file sizes are small on these...I'll give this one a pass.
Great set. While the first two are very nice and stand on their own right, the third is really great and highly creative. The composition and selective focus really work well. Excellent shots

I like the first two, with the second one as my favorite. The leaves on both sides of the flowing water make for a nice contrast between stillness and movement. I also like the composition.
My one trip to Pewits Nest, fall of last year, was great. It's a tremendous location with a wealth of shooting options.
Fine images--the second is my favorite. Dynamic, and very well-balanced, composition. Of course, I'm drawn to intimates of this sort, so take my opinion with the usual grain of salt.
