Still a warm autumn here in Holland. Normaly this beetle hides during winter time but I was very lucky to find a young male. The autumn colors are nice at the moment so they make a perfect background. The beetle will be hiding within a week or so. I will not find him back next year so I'm very pleased to finally meet one in the wild. I was told this beetle can lift 250 times his own weight. Incredible.
Great approach and a top quality result. Like Robert, I find leaf a little distracting, largely, because it looks a bit set up – I’m being really picky though.
Cheers,
Chris

that's great Edwin, I've always wanted to find one of these beauties. Works very well with the Autumn colours.

Its a great NH study Edwin and gives you an insite into the structure of the beetle. Didn't realise that at the back of the horn there is a section thats open and almost splitting the thing in half. That section must be mighty strong. The colours are great as well.
