David Cobb: Adventure Dude

Hey NWers,

Thought I would post a photo of the esteemed Mr. Cobb fording deep into the bowels of the Virgin River Narrows in Zion, looking like Indiana Jones in a red beany. Outdoor photographers are a reclusive breed who tend to hide behind their cameras and photograph empty landscapes. However, I enjoy seeing pictures of photographers in their natural habitat, elusive as they may be. David chose to spend a milestone birthday hiking the narrows with me and it was one of the most memorable days I have had in the outdoors. I promised not to mention it was his birthday, but I couldn't help myself. Plus, he's in darn good shape for an 83 year old wouldn't you say.

Man you look great for 83 razz: - and you made it through the Narrows in one piece - wow !! That is better then me who couldnt even make it and I am still in my thirty's

That's my Jacques Cousteau beenie Sean! And I'm 82, not 83, but I read like an 85 year old. It was a great way to celebrate my b-day however.

Love the beanie! I don't remember it from Sawtooths. Looks like David is having a great time for his birthday, whatever age he is.

Hmmm, looks like he is walking softly and carrying a pretty darn big stick.

The only thing I'm not sure about are those black socks on the old dude!!
