First Bobcat
I finally spotted my first Bobcat in thwe wild. I captured this guy at Cheyenne Mountain State Park. I have been there twice now and they have a nice mixture of wildlife. I wish i could have made my way to th other side of the the Bobcat for better lighting, but was happy I even got the shots I did. I alsi included a couple other shots form the park.

Nice capture Kurt. Can't always get the best lighting shooting wildlife you have to take what you get especially with something as elusive as cats. I bet he's had turkey for lunch once or twice.

Congrats on catching the bobcat-I really like the turkey shot.

What a great opportunity. I love that first shot despite it not being directly in the light. Thanks for sharing!

Nice series, and a great job capturing such an elusive creature!
Is that a prairie dog staring down the cat in #2 ?!?

I love the second shot with the Prairie Dog and the Bobcat! I don't know if the cat is irritated knowing that food is so close but not likely catchable, or if it's well-fed and just hanging out.

I agree with Les. That's a really cool shot.

Hi Kurt,
These are great shots, who cares about the lighting. I think you did great for them being your first shots. Wow. What a beautiful creature. I especially like the 2nd one, but I do also like the first one, you can see its eyes better. Your turkey and prairie dog shots are cute. Very nice images.

Congrats! It's been a long time since I've seen a bobcat in Colorado, good to know they're still out there...

Outstanding images of the bobcat given that many of us will never come across one in the wild much less in a way enabling any shot! Am hugely jealous! I think #2 is particularly good and am not put off by the backlighting. Congrats!

I like sidelight wildlife shots. It adds depth that standard front light portraits may lack.

There's lots of these cats out there. You ever get the feeling you're being watched? It's likely a bob cat or mountain lion. Whenever I see them they're always running away.

Every time I go to that park, all I see is deer! The bobcat shots are great!
