The format suits this one nicely John. Good study with some nice feather detail.

Major.

I like this! If anything, I might crop to above your signature. Not enough of these posted really.

Lovely birds, agree with Ian, we dont see enough of them and well captured.

that's very unusual John and works well. Nicely done.

Did you have any particular forum members in mind, John?

That's probably best left unanswered!

David

I may be corrected here but isn't the pigeon family the only birds that are capable of drinking like this ?Apparantly other birds dont have the apparatus to suck .( I must have been out with a few in the past.LOL)
Its a sterling image John .Behaviour well captured.

You beat me to it Mark... I was going to say whilst watching pigeons drinking they just seem to vacuum up the water whereas other birds drinking seem to put it in the beak and then tip the head back to drink it. Great shot though!

Thanks all. I may have mentioned before but you can almost ID birds by the way they drink.
In fact Mark , I,ve seen blackbirds suck it up like a pigeon too at times.
(It all depends how thirsty they are !! )
Cheers

This is very nice. I like the pose and the reflection a lot. The square format works very well here.
