OT - Vacay pix from the UK
We took a 2 week vacation to the UK recently and had a blast! Even survived driving on the wrong side of the road. I have around 400 pix to go through and a few can be seen here with many more coming in the next week or so:

This shot is a Photmatix HDR combo of 3 handheld shots. Taken at the hotel we stayed at in Windsor. Big thanks for the help I asked for regarding battery charging there. Adapter plug worked perfectly

Looks inviting. I like the nice soft sky and the flag at the top of the castle. Nice work with HDR, not overdone like most I see.

Yes, indeed! This is the type of subject that really benefits from that technique.
Lovely building. How was the weather for you?

Really nice to see some images from my home country, and this one above works really nicely in HDR!. Looks like you had some farily decent weather, I look forward to seeing the rest when you process them!.

Excellent processing-very crisp, very sharp.

Very nice, soft lighting. "Inviting" is the perfect word. Looking forward to perusing the rest of the collection!

Nice stuff Pam, I miss Edingburgh such a great city lots of history. Yorkshire dales.....ahh....my home, I grew in North Yorkshire County.

Oh, good, I see you had some brightening that day. Jody probably knows what I'm talking about. When we were there in 2000, the forecast would call for "some brightening" in the afternoon. Loved the country! The National Gallery is one of the great treasures on earth as well as the British Museum. History surrounds you everywhere you go. I like the shot a lot, Pam. Excellent tonal control. Looks like a great place to stay.

Wow, great collection, Pam! These are so far beyond snapshots, they're real art. Great, great comps. I also think I spotted some other hdr images, and you've got your technique down really well. HOWEVER, you mean to tell me you couldn't give the camera to the ol' man just ONCE and have him take a picture of you??? C'mon, throw a dog a bone!

Cool collection of shots Pam and thanks for sharing. BTW, also love your HDR processing.

I have many more shots to process Fido  There are a few of yours truely in the offing. Patience my boy. Thanks for the kind words on the HDR work. While looking at this particular scene that evening I knew I'd never get the dynamic range needed with just one shot. It did lend itself well to the technique. John M...we had mixed weather but I have to say it was pretty good for the majority of our stay. The days I wanted to hike the dales and moors were, naturally, the rainiest which was frustrating. Overcast actually accented the mood at these places but rain was not a friend to my equipment. Jody...I LOVED North Yorkshire! In fact we spent the most time there. We put almost 700 miles on our rental car! Stay tuned
