Why, "Fire in the sky," of course! Was heading up to Mssr. Showalter's place this morning and had to pull into Red Rocks to capture thie magnificent sunrise. Geez, when I saw the high clouds when I left Pueblo at 4:30am, I knew I'd be in for a treat. I just hoped it didn't happen in a totally disadvantageous spot, like I-25 and Lincoln or something.

Dave and I were headed for Georgetown to scope out the bighorn action, but apparently my best shots only happen when the animals are really, really still.

The sunrise woke me up this morning. I jumped outta bed to peer outside because the entire view from my window was red-orange. Glad to see someone captured it. Great shots! I like them both.

Nice sunrise to bad those rocks got in the way. The sheep would have been a shot of a lifetime if only his horn wasn't broomed off.

Great timing!
When I'm lucky enough to see colors like this in the sky, I always seem to have little else but powerlines as my backdrops.
Love the skull...classic western shot!

Great shots! Like the color in the first one. Nice eye contact in the second!

Nice stuff, Todd. I think I actually like the first one better with the left side rock cropped off.

I guess I missed this sunrise (gotta sleep in sometime). Thanks for catching it for us - Beautimous!

I got to see the sunrise from inside, cuz this is my week to pay the bills. It was pretty nice in ColSpgs too. But, I thought what followed Smoke on the Water, was Ashes in the Eddies? That steer looks like it had some bad intentions, was it not a willing subject (I suppose you had to nail it in place first, which may explain the look)?
Both are fantastic, and each in it's own way. The dark graphic foreground just adds to the color, drama, and glory of the sunrise, and the skull emanates hostility!

That's the strangest bighorn skull I've ever seen. Looks more like .... Elsie the cow!

That is a nice sunrise!
I'm usually zipping up or down I-25 before or after work when those nice sunrises occur. Not much in the way of scenery between Pueblo and Colorado Springs...
