I made this image on Lee Vining Creek a couple of days after the CANP gathering. I was too close to the foreground stone to use my 300mm, so I went with my 180mm and then cropped when I made the scan.

Tachihara 4x5
180mm Fujinon
Astia 100F

I always appreciate your thoughts and comments.

Beautiful, Preston!! Love the colors, the water and the comp. The rocks look a little over-sharpened on my screen, but otherwise, the web presentation looks very good. Sweet stuff!

Very nice, Preston. I really like the layout of the composition on this one. I especially like the diagonal of the water viewing overall. The darker side on the right with little depth of view and over to the left side with much more light and a complete view of the bottom. Not sure about the over sharpening on the rocks, too early in the morning for me to pick up on that yet.

Preston,
I just love how this simple setting comes across is this image. The greens contrasting with the blues really make the image for me. Looks great. Best Regards.

Preston,

This is wonderful! The trio of rocks in the stream makes for a balanced and pleasing composition. The blue/green colors are great and I'm also enjoying the translucence of water that reveals what's under the surface - yet still retains the nice reflected colors.

Only nit - a little oversharpened on the upper rock, but overall, certainly looks much better sharpening and compression-wise than the previous postings.

I really like this one.

Many thanks to you all for your comments! I made a 12x16 print of this yesterday, and am quite pleased with it.

Thanks again,

Beautiful mix of colors, textures and shapes captured here. At first I was going to suggest a very slight dodge of the URC, but the more I look at this I'm not so sure about that. Very nice!

Very nice. I like the diagonal made by the color difference in the reflection.

I like this a lot, Preston. The colors are super sweet. I like how my eye hops from rock to rock and still see all the great color.
