Bighorn Sheep
Captured this one near Georgetown. They were not very active this morning. Cooler weather coming in. Maybe that will help! Thanks for looking.

Excellent light and detail in this portrait Dan...I also hope the colder weather helps the rams get a little more fiesty.

That's fantastic!

Sure is! Just look at that eye!!
The detail present here is just stunning. You might consider cloning out that one bit of grass that appears to be in focus near the bottom.
Surely one of the best portraits I've ever seen of a bighorn!

Dan, your long lens technigue just keeps getting better and this one is a supurb example. Beautiful tack sharp portrait of this animal. I agree with John M, about that wee stalk of grass.

The detail is fantastic, feels like i can reach out and touch it! Good work, Dan. I do wish there was a bit more space on the side, but thats being really picky.

Awesome shot, I've been out to RMNP twice now, used a 200mm lens with a 2x converter first, and then a 100-400mmm the second trip, and I've yet to get your level of detail. Beautiful job! I'm going to have to save up for a 500mm prime lens.

Dan,
As always, phenominal detail. Not only are your comps, exposure right on, so is the pose, expression, highlights in the eyes and like others have said, the detail is always excellent. That 500mm you use is just a sweet lens. Keep it up. Love to see your stuff anytime.

I wish, as you probably do, that the foreground oof grasses weren't there, but with this shot, who cares! Great catch.

Great bighorn shot! It's nice to see one looking so relaxed and contemplative. The blue edge on the gold horn is lovely.
