Among the Leaves
This is another of the images taken last week in Yosemite. I really liked this quiet spot, which ironically was just a little west of the Le Conte Memorial. All comments much appreciated.

Michael,

Initially this comes across as pretty busy, but I think your composition eases that busy-ness with the opening just beyond the boulders up front. I'm also viewing this on my laptop which isn't giving this a fair view. I do think that this needs to be seen larger and I expect I would like this even more as a large print.

Good mix of color with the big leaf maples. I can report today that the big leaf maples are past prime here in the valley, but the black oak are still going strong.

Wish I could see this one bigger.

I really like the depth into the BG and side areas in and around the main FG here, Mike. I might tend to tone the cyan down just slightly as to make it not so much in the main FG rocks.

Michael,

I agree with Lon and Paul's observations. At first, this looks a little chaotic, but after looking at it a bit, there is a nice flow. I'd like to see a print of this. The boulders, and other areas that probably should be more neutral in color, have a cyan/blue cast. This could be fixed easily with an adjustment in either a curves or levels layer.

Nicely seen!

Michael,

I would pretty much agree with what was said above. I find it a bit chaotic, but then the leaf image I just posted is nothing but chaotic. I would prefer to see the blues/cyan toned down on the rocks, as well.

Cheers!

This is the kind of structured chaos that I like. This keeps me looking and has a nice balance... well captured!
