Winter's here!
It must be if the snow buntings have returned to the Kent coast. This shot was taken earlier today on the beach at Reculver, part of my local patch, and in some years a very good spot for the species. This group has been in for about a week, and spend most of their time eating buck's-horn plantain seeds as far as I can see. They are very confiding. A group of us were photographing them yesterday when a dog ran between photographers and birds. They sat still and the dog moved on.

Great PoV... must head down there some time soon....nicely taken, perhaps a tad more room on the left and a little less above...

Hello David.

Lovely looking image and a bird I am hoping to get some time soon.

I would agree with Phil for a little more room on the left.

Wow, that's very very nice. Beautiful bird in a beautiful setting. All these colours are going very well together.

Great stuff.

Well done David good pose and we can see a bit of leg.
The only thing I find odd and nothing to do with your efforts but the tail looks as though someone took a pair of scissors to it.

A lovely image with a perfectly complimentary setting.

No snow buntings were subjected to scissors to take this picture  , but one small dog and two dog owners were roundly cursed once they were out of earshot  , even if the birds did stay still. The rest of the tail is there behind the stones.

A very nice image with perfect camouflage background. You are very lucky to have these beautiful birds around. I have never been lucky enough to see one. Agree a little more room on the left would just make it. :toast:

Excellent! Low angle works very nicely and I love the way the colours of the stones match those of the bird.

Hi David,

Lovely image, super bird and they must really blend in with the shingle! I can see a slight halo round the bird on my monitor, but no big deal as nobody else has mentioned it.

Cheers,

Lewis.

Lovely image with a nice low point of view. I like the matching colours of the bird and the stones very much.
