I think this would work better as a horizontal image (always supposing you have any more space to the right). Looks to be plenty of detail Maggie but on my screen it looks as if you could lower the contrast a touch and perhaps lighten it a fraction.

This is a lovely picture, Maggie, but I think you could improve it further by reducing the contrast a bit.

Thanks Robert and David. I think I still prefer it as a portrait but here is a landscape version with contrast lowered and made a little lighter.

Prefer the second one Maggie. Did you get woody? :wavey:

I love coal tits and this is very nice indeed! Both compositions work for me, but I agree the contrast looks better in the repost.

Hi Maggie , no bent pins on this one. No1 for me too. But should have done that way in the first place . Andy's going to have my guts for garters .LOL
Lots of detail and the white held well considering the lighting .Nice eye dot and DOF smack on for me .
Andy S ....yes woody came down twice . No I'm not adding anymore than that .

Hi Maggie,

prefer the first one but would like to see it processed like the second one :toast:

Nice and sharp and whites held under difficult conditions

Second for me, I think perhaps even more of a reduction in contrast... a super bird very well imaged.

First I like Maggie as it shows your image as a slightly moody shot where the light is only partially aluminating the bird fully. Just wish there was a slight angle to the branch but all in all a very nice bird.
