Flying Lessons
1D2n, 600mm f4 is, 1/1250s, iso 200

Today, I managed to stay at the pond from sunrise to sunset and witnessed some fantastic conditions. I almost ran out of cards and doubt if I'll ever process some of the images.I have been following these cygnets almost since they hatched and I have to say it was exciting to see them struggle to take to the air. I like this image as it includes the parents in the background, as if they are supervising his attempt. If the pond images start to get boring, please let me know!

Gives a great feeling of the power required for take off, like it.

Great action shot Ian. You can almost image what one parent is saying to the other. I echo David's sentiments - definitely not boring. :wavey:

Wow! 2012 olympics here I come. Fantastic action shot and I love the way the two in the background seem to be there as spectators.

Super, I might have liked a touch more room on the right if you have it, but that is so minor with that excellent action captured.... looks like the swan is going to head straight up your lens hood.... bored with them? Certainly not...

I can hear the racket going on as it patters across the water now.
Lovely colours reflected in the water as well.
Good action shot.
