Sunset Curlew
Taken on a different night to the previous shot posted a couple of weeks ago...but taken against an interesting sunset. Cropped a bit off the right hand side of the original image - this is about 70% of the original photo. Its the only shot I took that evening where the curlew has lifted its foot to an interesting (!) position. C&C welcome.

Works for me Ian but I would be tempted to crop the dark bit of sky off at the top :toast:

It's a dramatic shot and nicely taken. smile: I wonder whether it would be even more interesting as an environment type shot with it much smaller in the frame and more sky or landscape for it to call into. Just a thought.

Nice silhouette indeed. Would also work smaller in frame as Tim suggests.

Lovely shot. I like the dark bit at the top, it adds to the atmosphere.

Amazing shot, great drama, like it loads.

The dark area at the top provides a stop for the eye preventing it from going out of the frame, so I'd say keep it. Great to see a bit of animation in a silhouette. I like it.

Cracking! I'd love a Curlew shot like this. Very dramatic and a great pose. I'd keep the darker band at the top too! :toast:

Lovely shot. The black band doesn't bother me at all but agree with Tim about making it smaller in the frame - but not too much. :wavey:

The raised foot with the little bit of vegetation below has given the image even more clout than would have been. Great timing.
