Virga
So, I was heading home from Quaker Meeting this morning when I looked up in the sky and thought, "hmm, those are interesting clouds." A moment later I realized why they seemed so interesting - they're Virga! I've only seen virga (rain that falls from a cloud but evaporates before hitting the ground) while out west, and can only speculate that it's showing up here, today, because we're having unseasonably warm, dry weather, and it's quite a bit colder at altitude.

There's nothing spectacular about the photo, just the subject...

Enjoy,

Tim!

Fascinating subject matter; I don't think I've ever seen a cloud quite like this. I'll be on the lookout in the future.
