What we'd really like to know is what was he poking his tongue out at? Great shot, Major.

nicely captured Major - is this another CWD or Muntjac? I'm struggling to tell them apart now.

Very nice indeed . Just a shame about the foreground but that's the problem with low POV I suppose.
Great stuff.

Hello matt this is a CWD. The Muntjac has somewhat shorter legs and a striking head pattern or at least in the male along with backward facing antlers. These give it that devil type look. The CWD has no antlers at all regardless of sex and is classed as a primitive type Deer sporting tusks instead of antlers. When viewed head on they have a much friendly type face looking a bit like a Teddy Bear. In my eyes anyway.
John re the low Pov. If I had approached this animal at normal height I wouldn't even have got a look in and thankfully I am more than able to creep and crawl about to obtain my image and at the end get back on my feet and walk away.
Phil no it wasn't a quick one. this animal was walking towards me and went off th the right to get a drink. I was well camo'd up and the wind had dropped so the chance of scent blowing was somewaht reduced. It did of course eventually catch the sound of the shutter and then tuned around and went back the other way.

Perfect, Major! the low POV takes the eye straight to the subject beautifully.
