It's that time of year where a lot of the photographers in Juneau are finding something other than photography to occupy their time. Actually, the other things (job mostly) have been finding me, and despite the pretty consistent rain, there have been countless times in the last week that the weather (photography conditions) has been absolutely breathtaking. I'm just glad I at least get to experience them even though I have no photographs to share.
This photo is from early in the summer and a trip that was more about scouting than successfully making photographs. On the other hand, there were a handful (maybe just a couple) of images that have really grown on me over the past several months, and I'd love to here your response.

Cool shot, Kent. Mendenhall? You should post this in the current Weekly Challenge.
Not much light here now; we're entering that three month period when you work in the brief periods of low light or not at all. And wish you'd gotten out more during the summer.

By all means, post this on the weekly challenge.
Nice capture.

Another great glacier shot for you Kent! I like the clear transition in layers. Just curious, how large is the area within the photograp, there is no sense of scale to it. I've seen these glacial "spouts" with the streams coming from within the glacier, and they can be 6 inches or 6 stories tall
Thanks for sharing!

Great shot Kent! I'm a lurking flatlander (and RMNP forum member) from Indiana and really like to see the images from around Alaska. Keep 'em coming!

I can see why that shot has grown on you, Kent. The feel is so much different from a waterfall or rocky stream shot, and yet it yas the same basic elements. It's hard to describe; somehow it feels very ancient. Very neat.
I understand this "season of doing other things." I'm getting ready for some holiday sales, hopefully, and there just isn't much time, and like Jim said, there isn't much light, either. Criminy that sun goes down early!
