Fauna Gallery: Pick of the Week

This week it was a pleasure to make the pick of the week for the Fauna Gallery. It's apparent that Bighorn Sheep and both White-tailed and Mule Deer are in the rutting season - we're absolutely feasting on quality images of these species right now. And, of course, we're getting our "usual" awesome image posts from Africa, Japan, India, and Europe! This week's short list of images for the Pick of the Week span the globe and include:

1. Jorne de Bruin's "Family" from Finland

2. Sally King's "The Lookout" from the desert SW of the USA.

3. Jeff Acreman's "Early Morning Mist" from the UK.

4. Marsel van Oosten's "Let There Be Light" from Japan.

Ultimately, I ended up choosing an image from Africa as the Pick of the Week. I tend to like technical perfection (or near perfection) in an image, but this go 'round I was absolutely amazed by an image that probably wasn't the strongest image posted this week from a technical perspective - but the action captured in it absolutely overwhelmed and trumped all other considerations.

So…congratulations are extended to Ray Anderson - your "Got Him" is a stunning image and a very well-deserved Pick of the Week!

Of course, this is just a few of the great images posted in the last week - my apologies to those I've overlooked. Thanks to all who posted images and/or comments in the last week...

Cheers...

Brad
