Grey seals
Hi All

After a very productive month of image processing a trip to the coast on Saturday was my little treat to myself - Snettisham at dawn and Donna at dusk.

Although I rarely seem to be satified with my grey seal images I quite like this one.

C&C welcome.

Cheers,
Chris

You must have been further down the beach than me Chris - didn't spot you at all!!

The only shame on Saturday was the bank of cloud that blocked the last 20 minutes of the sun as we never really got the full on colour that the cloudless day had promised but you've done a nice job here although I'm not sure about the slug on the horizon

Desperately trying to understand your techs here Chris - which lens was it

I might try and up the contrast a tad just to put a bit more zing in the sky, and I'd concur with the venerable Mr.S about the other seal on the skyline.

Hi Mark: You didn't spot me cos I was disguised as a seal
No, I didn't wander round too much - just stayed with a few animals at the opposite end to the main group. As for the "slug": I contemplated reframing when I took the shot but decided to go with it. Afterwards, I thought about cloning it out but that was how things were at the time so I've left it in. With hindsight, it is a pity the shape isn't a little more distinct but I kind of like the extra dimension it brings.

Hi Andy: Yes, contemplated the sky contrast/saturation too. Again, I decided to try and go with what was there at the time. As Andy says, the colours never reached their full potential so, for better or worse, I've tried to be faithful to how it was . . . despite the temptation! That said, my commercial version may be slightly different
As for the lens - it is the one with sand in it

Thanks for commenting,

Cheers,
Chris

Hi Chris

Very very nice - I think I would remove the OOF seal only because it is not readily recognisable as another seal!

Hi Chris,

LoL at the slug, but not a problem to remove, later in the year it gets impossible not to get another photographer in the bg...

Like the light in particular way the sand is lit on the right, a great feeling of the end of the day...

Hi Chris,

All been said already, super shot and I like that you have left it looking nice and natural as you remember it.

Cheers,

Hello Chris.

Lovely looking image and well thought out.

I like the light as is but might try a little more conrtast just to see if it gives it that little bit more.
