Just curious if anyone is running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit in XP mode. One of the hard drives on my computer (4 years old) failed a couple of weeks ago, so I don't have the luxury of waiting until all the new drivers and downloads are available for 7. I need something now (actually, I needed it last week). I've bought a new Alienware box that should be a big improvement (Intel i7, 2 TB Raid 0, an extra 1 TB internal, 9 gigs of RAM and a GeForce 1.8 GB GTX 260 video card). I'm not worried about CS4 or drivers for my Canon printers, but am concerned about being being able to run PK Sharpener in XP mode. Everything I've read indicates that I should be OK, but was wondering if anyone has actually tried this yet?

Hi Bill,
The PK sharpener will rune fine in the 32bit version of photoshop cs4 (it will install both the 32 and 64bit automatically)

However, photokit recently released a beta of there products that work with the 64bit version of photoshop (link)

Thanks, Wim. The beta version described is for Vista 64-bit (and is the only 64-bit platform supported by Pixel Genius). I was hoping someone had actually tried it under Windows 7 64-bit.

Hi Bill,
sorry to be unclear, but i have tried it on win 7 64bit (i have been running it from the early beta)
In general if it supported under vista 64 it will run in win 7 64.

Hate to hijack your thread, Bill, but i am also curious about the Win 7 XP mode. I have CS4 on an older XP machine, but I really need to upgrade. When you install CS4 does it automatically install both the 32 bit version and the 64 bit version?

Thanks again Wim! I appreciate the clarification. I'll sleep much better tonight.

Mark,
yes it will automatically install both the 32 and the 64bit version when you install photoshop cs4 on a 64bit os
