Scotland
Well am back now from my trip home to Scotland, had a great time, not long enough though. Made the final decision to sell up here and move back to be closer to family.
Rannoch Moor, standard view but amazing light.

More photos here..

Looks like you had a great trip. You know that you will miss Colorado soon as you move! You will have to come back and visit.

I love Rannoch Moor. What an amazing place. You'll be missed here in Colorado. How soon until you make the move?

Yes, very nice light. Looks like a great location for a quiet man to settle down for a while.

Very sorry to hear you are going to be leaving, but be sure and post often here as some ot posts, so we can keep up with you. I do understand the pull of being near family. The shot is excellent.

Erik, we will put the house on the market and move as soon as we can. Probably to somewhere between Kinross and Pitlochry. I did think that Glencoe and Rannoch Moor have great photo potential as well as the north west and Skye of course. Luckily its a wee country! We need to be near an airport as well as the scenery! Maybe will take a while to sell the house here.
The "worst" moment of our trip was listening to Dougie Mclean singing Caledonia in Dunkeld cathedral, a wee bit emotional! We also went to the fiddle championships in Blair Castle, (won by a wee lass from Corvallis!), they do have a lot of red deer antlers and paintings on the walls! It's a bit of different world!

Hi Bill. Beautiful pictures of a beautiful place. Congratulations on your move. Enjoy the return home; you will be missed here. Glad I had the chance to meet you while standing "dangerously close" (your words) to an advancing and huge bull moose in the Snowy Range. Best of luck!

Hi Bill. Those are some beautiful images! I would like to visit that place someday. I wish you blessings and safety on your move back home.

Thanks for all the kind words, I have loved learning from you folks, you are an awesome bunch, I guess I will have to adapt to the UKNP forum and their preference for animal photos. I'll be around here for a wee while though.

Sorry to hear you're moving away, but fortunately the internet will allow you to stay in touch.... Where in Scotland is this in relation to Edinburgh, which is the only place in Scotland I've been to?

Don, it's North of Edinburgh on the A9 highway. Kinross has a lake called Loch Leven which is a big migration stopover for whooper swans and pink footed geese plus it has the odd white tailed sea eagle. Pitlochry is more in the central highlands with lovely scenery, mountains and woodlands. I was born and raised in Edinburgh.

Bill,
Hope all goes well with the sale of your house and move. I spent a couple of weeks in Fort Williams and thoroughly enjoyed Scotland.

Best wishes

Ahhh.. you certainly won't be lacking in photo opportunities! I've only spent a few short days touring northern Scotland, and fell in love with the landscape - although my brain had difficulty dealing with driving on the "wrong" side, especially with several days of sleep deprivation.

Best wishes on your move back home. I don't envy the chore of packing a house for an international move.
