I'm not a happy bunny (and repost)
I was fortunate enough to get a large number of pics of this guy, but have only recently had the chance to look at them. This shot appears to be almost a snarl.

All and any C&C welcome.

Nikon D3 with Nikon 300/2.8. 1/640 sec at F2.8. ISO 400, EV 0. Hand held from the car.

Thanks for the comment Stephen.

I've tried a square crop, but was trying to retain all those lovely long whiskers and eyelashes.

The focus point is right on the eye, and that part of the pic is very sharp, but my processing seems to lose it for me. Hopefully this is better, but my pics always appear to lose something in the posting.

Hi Mike, both look lovely images to me and on my screen the eye is spot on, but @ 2.8 its a swallow DOF and as said up that to F4 or F5.6 and that would have given you a bigger DOF,giving you a bigger area in focus, you processing is good  Very nice close up portrait  :wavey:

Mike,

I'm sure that's a Hare not a Rabbit. The coat colour is more that of a hare - rabbits are usually a greyer colour rather than brown. The long whiskers and ears also say Hare. - Long ears with black tips...? Any full body shots, or shots of it running/walking/hopping?

Thanks Nick. I did realise it is a hare, but I was trying to be clever with the title - "I'm not happy and I'm not a bunny" may have been better.

You're right about the bit I cloned out in number 1 Stephen. In my haste to repost I omitted to deal with it on No 2.

Nikon ViewNX does indeed highlight the focal point, and in this picture the eye is right in the middle of the square. Unfortunately it was an overcast day, and I used F2.8 to improve my chances of taking pictures from a van with the engine running. It emphasises how shallow the depth of field is, although the eye is sharper at large size. :toast:

Great expression! It seems to lack a little punch on my screen, but a really nice image, well taken.
