Georgetown Bighorns
Rod Chandler,Bob Karcz and I went up to Georgetown on Thursday. Cold and windy but no head-butting. We ran into Kurt Bowman later in the AM. I was using a f/4.0 200-400mm with a 1.7x multiplier on the portraits.
This was my first time at shooting Bighorns.

Comments please.
#1 Group shot.
#2 Portrait

Really crisp shots, David, and a very good first effort with them.

Hey David, was this the Nikon 200-400 f4 lens? I'm pretty sure I'm going to order that lens next week and am pretty excited to see your shots with the 1.7x as WOW those are sharp.

Brian, Yes, this is the Nikkor lens on my D200.The first image was shot without the 1.7x. f/4.0 @400m / 600m effective.
The second image was shot using the 1.7x f/6.7 @650m / 970m effective
Both were with the camera mounted on a tripod. I shoot most of this type of shot with a 3 image burst.
I like the lens a lot. I should use it more.
Thanks for looking.

Nice images! Really like the detail in the second image.

Nice images and very sharp. I'm impressed that you were using a TC and got that level of sharpness. My Canon 1.4 TC has left me very unimpressed.
