Sleeping Bear
Took my son to our cabin in late September. On a cold and rainy day we went hiking up to Pyramid Point in Sleeping Bear Dunes. The wind was howling and rain squalls kept coming across the lake, but the sky was dramatic. I thought it looked best converted to b&w...

Cheers all...Reed

Dramatic skies, rain, and less than pleasant conditions seems to be the norm this fall. Seems we encountered similar weather on our UP trip in mid-October.

I like the texture seen in the sand, not blown out. Nice B&W conversion. Dramatic capture. :toast: Hope your son is into photography to brave the elements with you.

I really like the bottom half of the image and the dramatic sky above the dunes. In between it is difficult to tell where you are in relation to the horizon line as the top of the dune is competing with the shoreline. I think moving the POV up (bringing in more of the shoreline) or down (leaving the shoreline out entirely) would help the overall composition. I like the BW conversion

I'm somewhat like Brian, only I like both the top and bottom half of the image, not that it is bad as is it. There is enough in each half to be interesting on its own. Great shot Reed.

I like the B&W idea. I would be tempted to crop the photo so just the shorline down is in the photo. I really makes a dramatic photo.

This is quite dramatic. Excellent use of b/w.

I like the layers....foreground to background. Well done.
