Recently I bought PS Elements 8, which included a $20 rebate if bought before oct 31. I filled out the form accordingly and attached TAB 1 from the box to the form, so it "would not get lost". Today, I received a card from Adobe that the tab was not included, hence no rebate. Strange since it was stapled to the form. Also, I thought it strange that they did not want the serial number of the disk, something that I always would be able to furnish, and would "not get lost". Needless to say I went post office to their customer service about this scam. I will follow up by filing a complaint with the TX att gen office, as well as Amazon, from whom I purchased the software. Buyer BEWARE.

Greg, I feel your pain. Below is a thread I posted a couple of years ago on NPN about my experiences with "rebates". Hope it all works out for you. Good luck.

I've learned over the years that getting your rebate requires (1) precisely following the instructions on the rebate form, (2) calling the manufacturer if there are any uncertainties about those instructions, (3) attaching nothing more than what is required, and (4) making a photocopy of the rebate submittal before mailing it.
I doubt Adobe is trying to scam anyone. As for the serial number, any number of people can request a rebate by giving the same serial number. All rebate program are designed to reward just the first and original purchaser.

This is a common scam of rebaters. It is probably a contractor emplyed by Adobe rather than Adobe itself. I hope you kept photo copies of everyting you sent them. Complain loud and hard to the rebater and to Adobe.
I have gotten similar messages from rebaters a couple of times, and have prevailed in the end. It may be only $20, but it's the principle of the thing.
