I tend to prefer photos that are as realistic as possible and the Orton effect is too much for my taste. I kind of like this photos painting feel, especially the trees and rock wall. The grass beside the road is a little too bright. It might be better if you toned that down somewhat.

Sandy, I'd love to see this image cropped square starting just below the "extra" branch on the top left of the tree... and with a greatly reduced or eliminated Orton effect. The fog already lends a "soft" quality to the image and the Orton just seems to be over the top. Hope that helps...

Sandy,
It looks a little "posterized" in the red tree on the right. I frequently use antique soft focus lenses, and they typically work best with a high contrast lighting ratio, so maybe flat fog isn't the best light - maybe try bright overcast or even indirect sunlight without the fog. Also, I'm guessing that the out-of-focus exposure is obscuring fine detail in the red tree and causing or contributing to the "posterization" effect. When I went on-line to look at examples, most were of subjects with strong shapes like single flowers and so on.
I think the yellowish grass in the lower right is too much, so a square crop would help.
