I have been to this river, north of bishop and to the east of 395 but have always seen bushes/trees which obstruct the view towards the mountains. I have seen couple of shots from this place where the bushes aren't there or very low which gets a great vantage point looking towards Mt Tom.

Does any know of this famous location and care to share ?

thanks in advance.

To expand on what Steve said, head to the Pleasant Valley CG, drive through crossing the stream and beyond the cattlegaurd, then you'll be on Chalkbluff RD. From there just start exploring the river bank and there's several locations and you should find what you're looking for. FYI if it's just rained a bunch or snow, it gets pretty mucky out there beyond the bw fence.

Cory, thanks for elaborating. At the time that was all my messenger pigeon could carry.

Debjit, If you have the time like Cory says "explore" any piece of land along the river on the map from lake Crowly to where the river ends.

thanks Steve and Cory. I have been to Chalk Buff rd few times before, only to find what I stated in my post. so i am guessing that either I am not looking at the right place or have been there at the wrong time of the year when the bushes really grow high. i am gonna explore more on this area sometime soon.
