Nice shots Dan. Ok I was standing next to a guy all morning shooting Canon with a 500mm lens. Was that you who I ask how they liked that Wimberley Sidekick?

Both are photographically pleasing AND great behavioral shots. Well done, Dan.

Nice meeting you as well Dan. Nice to put a face to all those amazing wild life shots of yours. I haven't even downloaded mine yet. Hopefully I get to them tomorrow.

Lovely shots Dan. These bighorns look very healthy. Well done.

In the second one looks like she has her eye on you, with a smile on her face.

Nice work, Dan. I haven't watched Bighorn enough to know they acted this way. You have a good sense of timing.

Great action shots, Dan! Stupid question from a non-wildlife photog: are these handheld or stabilized in some way (other than IS)?
Posted by Dan Walters on November 23, 2009 at 7:56 AM
Thanks for the comments. Stan, I use a Gitzo tripod to stabilize the lens. Would not want to hand hold that all day!! :jump:

Great shots dan! I like number 1 even better than the one you posted in the fauna forum! Wish I could have joined you out there on Sunday, but I had to take senior pictures of my niece...see what happens when the family knows someone that shoots photography? Were they more active? Well, hope to see you out there around the holiday weekend.

Sweet shots that are perfectly composed - great job capturing the behavior. And, uhhh, Mr. Grigg - that's not a girl. He could kick your a** for saying that.

So Dan, In your opinion is the rut still going strong or tapering off?

Nice clean image on #2, no brooming at all.

Both are great, but I really like that second one. It looks like he's gonna walk right into my living room!
