I froze my digits and other things.
When its close to zero and the only pair of gloves you have are the the ones without the fingers guess what happens? Frozen digits. Not only that, I had naked tripod legs and the frost from the humidity was building up on all my equipment. Oh well, the things we go through to get a good picture.

I have photographed this scene in the summer and knew what to expect, accept for the nice ground fog that rolled through the valley last weekend. I didn't think is was going to get so cold but I'm glad it did.
I included another shot here from the previous day. Comments much appreciated. Gallatin Valley, Montana.

Another one.

Very nice!, love the fog in that first one.

Both of these are beautiful. The first one is making me cold right now! I love the cold blue in the foreground and the warm sky at the top of the photo -- excellent comp. Maybe a bit too blue in the foreground, but just a bit. The shadows in the second detail picture are excellent as well.

Definitely worth getting out in the cold for shots like these! Great job.

Wow...you definitely captured a bitterly cold mood in that first shot. Hope you've thawed out...nice shots!

Number#2 really pops with the back lit vegetation glowing orange against the gray ice and white snow.

Both are beautiful, Dean. I really enjoy the first one. Great mood, lovely sky. Good work all around.

Both are beautiful but that first one is exquisite! Great work! :toast:

I really like the light and shadow in the 1st image. Well done!

The first one is my favorite, lots of mood with the fog and all.

Beautiful, the "soft" processing really works here, and I wouldn't think it would matter, but the matched color of your watermark actually enhances the image.

I love #2! #1 has some great mood and subject matter, but im not sure where the focus is; the bg seems to hold all the mood and drama, but its overshadowed by the fg (which is interesting, just takes something away from the bg i feel). :wavey:

I think it was worth it. I'm liking the first one!

I also like #1, but it seems a bit too blue to me.
Of course, so were your fingers, so this is a minor quibble.
