I'm thinking of buying a new computer and instead of transferring CS3 to it, I'd buy CS4. However I waited a long time to buy CS3 and got the upgrade just 2-3 weeks before CS4 came out. I'd hate to do that again. Anyone have a handle on Adobe's Photoshop upgrade cycle? Are we getting near CS5?

PS upgrades are almost always on an 18 month release cycle, so expect CS5 sometime around March/April.

I was floating around in the Adobe Forums recently and one of the product reps on there said the same thing... we're still a half year away from CS5. Go for it Jim, Camera RAW in CS4 is so superb it's worth the upgrade. The multi-point Adjustment Brush alone for exposure is worth the price of admission. And Bridge is way better also, it's actually usable for tagging and sorting and purging (and bears oh my).
I heard April for CS5 and for myself it will be worth every penny to stay on top of the advancements!

Seems like yesterday that I took the plunge and ordered Production Premium CS4, can't believe it was a year ago. Even worse, I'd better start saving for the upgrade!
