Another pond shot.....
... except it is Lake Malawi from a few years ago, taken with a 10D. Bit of a contrast to the grey muck I have seen for the past couple of weeks,

Lovely! Bit bigger than my ponds. And is that a Malawi ciclid I see surfacing in the near foreground ?

Viewpoint is a bit high; the trick apparently is to find an outflow and stand in that so that the camera is a water level. Bg should be nicely Oof though. :jump:

Usually i am a big fan of using foreground objects to enhance DOF but in this case the two rocks just draw my attention too much. I think leaving them out makes for a more serene image.

Caught us out there Ian. Lovely place Malawi. NIce image, the foreground rocks dont detract from the image in my opinion.

Nice general sunset image and the inclusion of the boat obviously makes the image but for me the rocks are to dominant and don't necessarily lead me in to the picture. I also find that the 'flare' from the sun has muted them somewhat which almost obscures the rock nearest the bottom.

Thanks all! Just venting a little frustration with recent conditions.

I also had reservations about the rocks and the feedback is very useful.

I dont do landscapes

Neither do I! However, I would very much like to. It seems a lot harder than doing birds!
