Taken at Pool 2 - before the rains came.!
Usual set up.

John, the way things are at the moment I think a dry blackbird would be a more novel posting LOL. Seriously, I like the drops of water here, and that blur on the wings works efectively as well.

Cheers,

David

It makes you wonder why they need a bath when they are living in a constant shower.

They are certainly all action when they come in like this.

A great moment captured well John and a testimony to the time and effort you put in as the bird would have to be at complete ease to be doing this with you around albeit in a hide or otherwise. A classic JR image and we could learn a lot.

I like the way you have captured half face on and half side on, most bathing birds are either/or, your view point is different and I like it. Done well to not let the water drops block the eye!!

cheers

Thanks all. This was one shot out of dozens. Most of the time the head was obliterated completely. There is nothing clever about the pools by the way . This is a shot of Pool 2. Just a bit of pondliner. The blackbird position was about 18 inches in front of my hand.
Cheers

PS made a pills of resizing this one but its only to give an idea.

Blackbirds seem to love water and splash about in it for ages, this is brilliant - just captures the scene perfectly. :toast:

Hi John

"There is nothing clever about the pools by the way" The magic is what you produce from them.

Another classic JR special, I always look forward to seeing them. Love the way you have got it trained to direct the droplets away from his eye

As for the pond, it's given me some food for thought for the future. Thanks for sharing.
