Here are a few shots from the big storm surf that we received last weekend.
This is obviously the same scene as my previous post, but with a person in a seriously dangerous position. A few weeks ago, two people were swept off of the rocks in the same area by waves that were comparable to the ones on this day. Even on the calmest of days, standing out there is flirting with disaster. I thought for sure I was about to witness tragedy. Luckily, this kid got out of there before the inevitable happened....

I can't believe (yes I can believe) that some idiot is standing on those rocks during these waves! Almost got the Darwin Award I guess. Great shots Aaron - you captured the drama of the sea for sure. There is some ditty on the lower image, 1/3rd of the way in from the left at the bottom, and you might want to clone it out.

Pretty cool. Huge waves for sure. NIce job capturing them!
Hi Catherine. This is from Shore Acres State Park, just South of Coos Bay, OR. If you ever want to photograph crashing waves, this is pretty much the place to be in Oregon. Definitely worth checking out if you ever find yourself down this way.
Thanks!

Holy cow, these three shots you've posted are amazing! It looks like on that monster wave in your prior post that there was a person outside of the fence too. Not a good idea. I'd love to be out at the coast for conditions like this; I'll have to keep my eye on the weather.

Thanks for posting these sweet wave pics and for the reminder of just how powerful the surf can be.
I can envision you doing an educational presentation with these.

I'm sure this site is readily recognizable to all you in OR, but where is this, Aaron??
Thanks!
