Brain Plant

I took this photo of a plant in a ditch.

It looks like a brain with the neurons and nerve pathways exposed.

Does anyone know what this plant is called?

Larry, you've got a woody shrub called common elderberrry, Sambucus canadensis. When the fruit turns purple, folks collect them and make wine or a refreshing drink.

Judging by the so few neurons and dendrites, that is not a very advanced brain.

Best,
Don

I learned something today to it was not wasted.

Thanks Don.

Now I know where to go to get the fixin's, right.
