Up again
After three weeks of waiting for another CPU to get built, and installing all the drivers, CS4, etc., I can finally get some work done again. Oh yeah, had to replace two maintenance cartridges and a printhead too. I guess when it rains, it pours. For those of you who are PC diehards - this was easily the most painless transition to a new OS yet. I love Windows 7!

Here's another Falling Water falls image from October. My, how the time flies...Happy Thansgiving to everyone. :wavey:

Very nice Bill.

Yes, the older we get the faster time flies it seems.

Love the shot Bill, great comp on an extremely overshot waterfall. CS4 huh? Last I heard you were still with cs3. Did the Windows 7 upgrade force you to CS4? I am still on CS3 but I can get a very cheap upgrade to Windows 7 through Rachel's school but don't want to make the move yet if it forces me to upgrade to CS4.

Great shot Bill. The DOF is great. Must have been no wind. The leaves look crystal clear!
Beautifully done! I hope your Thanksgiving was great!

I'm sure you will enjoy the new rig and get more work done in a shorter time now. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family & friends!

Thanks for your comments everyone.

Matthew - Windows 7 didn't really force me to go to CS4. I think CS3 will run just fine on 7. I've been wanting to get the latest photoshop since it was released, but wasn't sure my old CPU/graphics card would be up to the task. It took some time to go through all my workshop notes to get the preferences set back up, and to install all the plug-ins, drivers, profiles, and actions, but I'm really glad I got the upgrade. The first thing I did was to profile the monitor. Went to the X-rite website, downloaded the driver, and presto, it worked!

I posted a comment a couple of weeks ago about Best Buy's deal on a less-than-robust Dell. What was I thinking? Another thing I like about Best Buy is their return policy. I ended up getting an Alienware box that looked like a server when the UPS driver showed up Tuesday. It took both of us to haul it inside the house.

Thanks for sharing a great shot Bill, and new computers are sooo fun! I'm about ready to take the Win 7 plunge myself. Glad to hear your favorable comments.
Have a wonderful holiday weekend!

Bill,
A very uncommon treatment of this common place. I especially like the way the branches open up to accept the width of the river at top right.
Great job.

Very nice composition, Bill. I like how the green leaves match the water color. Glad to hear Windows 7 is working so well.
