Lovely! Nice eye detail and pose. Sky is beautiful. Maybe a smidgeon tight in frame but that's debatable.

Certainly a smidgeon tight in the frame for my taste, but isolating these guys to get just one in the frame is no mean achievement. Lovely, sharp bird, and I do like that background.

Nits covered Looks ok to me. The stance of the bird makes it a cropper's nightmare.

BIF - great   Excellent focus on the eye. A very nice pose against a cheerful sky, much needed at the moment.

Top shot Kim and a lovely sky. You have some very obliging dunlins or excellent fieldcraft skills or both!

Hello Kim.

Nice pose you have captured and background is different and works quite well.

A little more room to the bottom and left for me.

That's really nice and I can't see anything wrong with it that matters all that much. The bg makes it even better.

Many thanks for all the encouraging comments, they really are appreciated. Sadly the blue skies have disappeared and right now they are grey - and it is raining! :frown:

Best wishes everyone for the weekend. :wavey:

Hi Kim,

Really nice shot, the blue bg sets the bird off nicely. A tiny bit more room all around would top it off for me.

Cheers,

Lewis.

The 'space' issue aside, this is a lovely shot of a wader in 'down-time' mode. There is something special about these sorts of shot which probably lies in the fact that the bird has remained trusting enough (anthropomorphic, I know) to stay in roosting position.

One of your best images to date for me.

Cheers,
Chris
