In the absence of new material, a shot from my Spring trip to Spain - Red Backed Shrike on a building site. Taken much later in the day than I would like so the shoulder patch is blown in the harsh lighting conditions.
Oly E-3, 300mm F2.8 plus 1.4 tc iso 200 (native for E-3) 1/800s at F5.6, tripod, EV 0, CW metering Acratech ballhead, Acratech leveller and Wimberly sidekick.
(NB processed on my laptop, which I think needs re-calibrating again given its age, so apologies if the brightness is wrong)

Mike, I think if you check your ID book that this is a woodchat shrike rather than a red-backed. For a building site you appear to have found a good background!

Hi Mike,
Great species, but looks a little soft on my screen. Great background for publication, although I may crop in a little closer, thats personal choice of course.
Sorry mate this does not work, as presented it is indeed soft and the composition is poor, why all the negative space above? Exposure wise it looks like you have handled the harsh lighting well....
