Grey Wag in a murky pool.
D300s + 600mm AFS II f4D + 1.4 conv.
1/250 @ f5.6.
ISO: 320.
Ex Comp -1.7EV.
WB: Auto.
Contrast -2.
An awkward one to expose for.

Just about up and running after having to replace my hard drive.
At least I had manaaged to copy all of my images to two other drives but its been a complete nightmare to say the least.

Major.

a very striking composition Major, this really catches the eye. I think it would benefit from a bit of CCW rotation and a slight shame there isn't just a bit more eye contact, but still a very attractive image. Well taken.

nice image but I find the leaf a little distracting and would have liked the bird walkingslightly more towards the camera. Do like these reflection shots though.

I would like a little more eye contact, but I do want to congratulate you on getting the exposure right on what looks to have been a real nightmare. Fabulous reflection too.

Nice one Major

Tricky exposure well done, I might have been tempted to get rid of some of the OOF bright spots in the background

A very nice image and lovely reflection. I agree with Ian about the OOF bright spots but I like the leaf. Think it adds a nice touch. :toast:

Fantastic shot, these birds are never still so well done for getting so much detail at 1/250, the reflection is just superb.

Really like this one Major, agree with the minor rotation as it seems to be going downhill a little but otherwise bang on, maybe just warm it a tad, possibly a little cold for what looks like good light.

The leaf is great, just how I like 'em, Oh and the bird is not bad as well!
A very nice image indeed.

Very nice Major - the Wagtail really 'glows' in this image. Minor nits re rotation and eye contact covered - really like it!

beautiful image, nice symmetry, love the reflection, spot on exposure, if it were mine I'd remove the dull red object but aside from that cracking image

cheers
