Great timing producing a superb image. I'm not really an ornithological officionado, but credit where credit is due, this excellent.

Thanks both.
Depite causing raised eyebrows I often have the gear set on 640 or 800 all the time. My stuff is not going tpo be used for 6 foot posters so its no big deal.

For such a common bird, it is not always easy to nail it on the ground, let alone in the air. Nice one, John.

Hi John,

As a picture it doesn't excite me an awful lot, but I do like the shape of jackdaw in flight, but I do have to say that catching a bird in flight picture like this requires quite some patience and skill

So far, I know I've not gotten any successful BIF pictures yet. So this is a pretty good picture in that respect

Nice work John although i'd like a little more space all round but that i guess is more personal taste. i might remove that little dark objects under the wing and bottom left corner as they catch my eye a bit. Nice detail on the bird and good exposure.

I like it John, frankly, not enough black bird shots here. I think they're equally interesting subjects.

A real nice Jackdaw image John. Nice sharp details where it matters with a nice bit of blur on the wing tips. Nice natural BG & good comp. i wish my canon would produce this sort of quality on ISO 800

cracking flight shot, you've done really well to get the bird in frame without any other Ducks/geese/swans etc in the background!

beautiful

cheers
