This is from the White River Refuge just off Hwy 1 just East of St. Charles. Some of you will recognize this spot. For others just know that there is a road under there somewhere. After driving around Friday evening I understand how Tim E almost drove off into some of these swamps. Many of the gates are shut but the water is still up so high that vehicles will hit water way before they ever see a gate.

Hey Matthew, I went by Apple lake and the Robe Canoe trail near I-40 on the way back from Memphis Saturday and there was plenty of water but the roads were clear. Have you checked out that area?
No Tom I didn't go to that area. I did swing through Bayou Meto to check out some old deer hunting spots and found a few nice areas that should be good in the future. I will need some waders or a boat of some sort though.

Interesting image Matt. I hope to explore that area some day; I'll know to watch out for disappearing roads. Thanks for sharing.
