While I got'em I'll try to share'em.
This is the newest of my grassy endeavors. One of the harder parts I find in creating these images is finding the proper compositions.
I shot this vertical as well which I thought would be a better way to show stems and head, just couldn't get what I was looking for. These have an almost square format which makes either way somewhat unsure for me. But like the performers I find these subjects to be, the show must go on.
Canon 70-200 f/4L
f/4 @ 1/6
The lowering light and slower shutter speed was a struggle in getting this sharp.
By the way this is big bluestem, aka turkey foot.

Brad, I like this one better. The unusual maroonish color of the background really sets off the filaments on the seeds.
Ilike the slanting presentation of the composition.
Good DOF control, too.
Kudos!!!

I love the bg color in this shot Brad. The diagonal flow of the stalks is perfect for this frame. What was your ISO for this shot?

Hey Wayne,
I kept my iso at 100. I could have bumped it up a bit with my Xti but anything over 400 with that fella to me just sucks and just hate to use noise reduction in photoshop to deal with it. The noise with that camera seems to even have noise in it!
I was just bound and determined to get this a clean And sharp as possible with what I had.

Another winner Brad. I love the simple composition.
