Following on from my recent birch drag abstract, where I mentioned I'd taken another frame, 35 seconds previous to the one I recently posted.
This is it.
There was a brief shaft of weak sunlight which illuminated the stand of birches and this is the result.
Just when you think you have a handle on, and understanding of, the subtle ways light works, a pair of images like this come along and take you completely by surprise. The subtle colours and tones really caught me off guard, but I guess thats the reason why I prefer this in-camera-in-the-field experimentation - the results are way more unpredictable and magical than messing around later in Photoshop.
Sorry John I overlooked your previous image but have just viewed it now. I must say I very much like both images but I think the colour in this one just wins for me. Looking at these images just makes me wish I had more imagination.

Nice... I prefer this to the previous image. A little bit of light can certainly make things look different.

Your pervious one was very nice John but for me the colours in this image are beautiful and I love the colour 'band' effect traveling up from the bottom and lightning as it raises, if that makes sense??Beautiful

Liked the first one but I like this one even more, but then again I do like bold colourful pictures.
