Otter Family
Just started a project on this beautiful creature and it has been a good start. I will be going back on and off over the course of the next year or so, so hopefully I will not bore you too much with this little family.

Canon 1Ds Mk11, 500mm Lens, 1.4x, 1/320, F5.6, ISO 200

Hello Steve because my kit is shit at anything else  and when you get light like this you don't need to go any higher

Hi Danny a great little family shot, I'm already planning my next trip back. A useless bit of information or not that otters can breed at any time of year so there is always a chance of seeing a family group mother and pups.

Phil.

Ps I wish I had that kind of light earlier this year

Hello Danny.

I heard you were going to do these and I have been waiting for this, and just as I expected a super shot.
Luck you getting a family it took me five days just to find one. But thats Danny for you.

What cracking light you had, and the timing to capture the otters in that position is spot on :toast:

mmm!...what to say, must be honest but it's gonna hurt! If there is a better shot of an otter family out there then I don't know of it, the real kick in the teeth is that I know the only better shots of otters than this are the ones you haven't posted yet.
Honest opinion, this is why you are, as far as I'm concerned setting the standard for UK wildlife photographers, there is no-one out there producing better stuff. What I can't work out is how someone so short sets the bar so high.!!!

Paul. :wavey:

Thanks everyone for your nice comments, I had an amazing time photographing this scene, stuff of dreams really because I have been photographing Otters for nearly twenty years and boy are they hard to do.

Cheers
