Ok so the PNWNP forum has been relatively dead the last few days so I figured I'd start a topic. I really liked David's "PNW Icons" discussion but that was just about the places your average joe visits, icons are tourist traps and not always a place us photographers want to visit. I am taking an idea from the outdoor photographer contest "Your Favorite Places" but putting a Pacific Northwest spin on it. The idea here is that you may find some new places to explore you never knew existed. I'm sure there are lots of little gems which are not well known so share them with us...I promise I won't go telling everyone your secret locations. I'll start it off. I've only lived in the PNW just under 2 years now I'm not as well traveled as some but here is a shot list of my favorite places I've been and photographed:
San Juan Islands (summer time)
Cape Kiwanda
Smith Rock State Park

I've only been to the PACNW a couple times (as a tourist), but I really love the Lime Kiln State Park lighthouse on SJI and love to do macro shots of the flowers at Pike Place Market.

Gotta say the gorge, since I live here. Glacier National Park is up there too, and the Sawtooth Mountains in Idaho.
