Griffon
Long-standing posters may recall I posted some images of Bulgarian Vultures earlier this year - a project I'm keen on to highlight the efforts at re-introducing the Griffon in particular to their rightful place in the food chain there. Well I've been back again last month for another dose, and given the more gruesome aspects of these birds behaviour that recent high profile competitions have focussed on I thought I'd redress the balance with a more simple portrait that hopefully touches on their intelligent characters: I've plenty of gruesome shots too but I can't help but admire their resiliance and personalities.

Hi Mark

Love the soft light, pose and BG, Minor nit I feel it is a little tight on the left and at the bottom for it's virtual feet - that said still a fine portrait!

I agree with Mark that it is a little tight in the frame, but that is a minor nit. Still a superb picture.

Very nice shot Mark. I would prefer a little more space at the bottom, but I'm desparately looking for something to criticise. :toast: If you could just wipe away that piece of food at the corner of his mouth.

Bulgaria makes my trip to Kent seem just around the corner.

Cor! This has the most gorgeous lighting, bright overcast? Feather detail is superb and the background is great. Left tightness doesn't bother me, but a wee bit more feet would please my eye, but thats really a minor crit of what is a lovely image.

great image, love the background, perhaps a little tight in the frame, but does not detract from a great image

Looks like Bulgaria for Vultures needs to be added to the list of places to visit. The list gets longer every day.....

Alright fella - long time no speak!

Beautiful shot, lovely diffuse light, nice pov and an unusual subject, the feather detail is the real plus in this image as well.

Speak soon

Hello Mark.

Beautifully captured the feather detail and the colours in the BG work superbly together. Composition works fine for me.
