Been wondering why some topics were 'Off-Topic' as of late. Is it a rule that we have to identify topics that aren't relevant in this manner? I thought the idea of a forum was for discussion, and the Galleries were for critiques. Just an observation, thats all....
That's standard protocol in Listservs and online forums. It's a courtesy provided by the posting person that indicates "this really isn't germane to photography in the Rocky Mountain region so if that's what you came here for, don't bother taking the time to open this post or follow this line of emails".
For me, of course, it has the opposite effect. If I see something marked "Off Topic" I'll probably check that post before the "relevant" posts!

I know!!! I do the same thing. Consider me a forum rube.

Your post is clearly off topic and should have been titled "OT: Question: OT?"

So how many cocktail waitresses do you think Tiger hooked up with? I'm guessing 18....

Isn't a Topic some kind of candy bar? In which case if it's off.....

Maybe CAZ has it right and the OT topics are just the ones which are 'On Topic' in this board.
