I attended the slide show and book signing that Mr. Fielder had in Castle Rock last night. It was a good show and a great topic. He said that most of the smaller photos in his new book were shot with a canon G-9. He went on to say that digital cameras have come a long way and that he will use them alot more.

G9? Interesting. Is he using any other digital gear?

He was on local PBS a while back with a couple of NPS guys talking about the Ken Burns film. He didn't name it specifically, but it sounded like he is mostly using the 5D MKII. He seemed to correlate his 4X5 days to his titanium joint replacements.

Yeah I guess you could call this a yawn and a ZZZZ moment, however, John has been exclusively shooting large format for 25 years now, and still does. I talked to him about the G9 and said he loved it for documentary style shots, like the ones in his ranch book. Of course, the message here is that its really not about the camera, but who's behind it.
