Hi Steve
I like this as it shows the squirrel as part of its habitat and is well lit. I'd perhaps crop a bit from the bottom and the right hand side just to tighten it up a bit
Cheers
Andy
Based on replies, I guess David & Andy we might be looking at something completly different?
Andy at present I have been very conscious about leaving room for headlines/text for editorial and probably should have re cropped prior to posting. Thanks for taking the time to comment
No prblem Steve, I somethimes think I have a bit of an unconventional eye when it comes to compositions such as this as I would have the squirrel more in the bottom right corner, eliminate the foreground stuff and then just have a nice clean, dark background with plenty of room for text etc
I've also just read David's comment and am a little puzzled as it is already in portrait format though as I am knew to this forum I guess you might have posted a different shaped image earlier!!
Andy, I see where you are coming from, and a good point Think DG might have made the same observations too. It is always good to have a spare pair of eyes.
Yes, not sure quite what David meant re 'portrait', I think he was referring to 'landscape'?
I think you may find that David may have ment Landscape?
I would be in favour of a slight crop from the bottom and RHS, i.e putting the eye around the bottom "third" horizontal and approximately on the middle vertical line. Nice image, love the warm brown autumnal look.

Yes, I did mean landscape, sorry for any confusion, but I have corrected it now. Put it down to old age, and trying to do things in too much of a hurry.

Nice shot, I love the trees in the background they really suit the image.
Sorry for the late post Steve, been a bit busy and behind with my comments.
I like this one and it would look great on a cover, but for web presentation I would have cropped in on the squirrel a bit more as the foreground is fairly dominant imo. Lovely clean background though, much better than I get at my usual spot
I guess I will revert back to posting 'cropped images to view' rather than with 'extra' room. The only reason I have done this is because I have had comments about leaving space for text etc, hey ho
